...When asked where you were last week you literally can't remember what state it was.
...When asked what hotel you're staying at you say "The one with the white sheets."
...Your friends stop calling because they know you're not home.
...You forget where the grocery store is.
...Going to LA is about as exciting as going to Findaly, Ohio.
...You forget what clothes you have - except the 3 outfits you keep in your suitcase.
...You stop buying shampoo because the hotel always has some.
...You wake up with that panicky feeling of "Where the hell am I?" in your own bed.
...You talk to yourself at the gym (bluetooth or crazy? - Crazy.)
...Your laundry comes out of the dryer and goes straight back into your suitcase.
...TSA asks where you're going and you can't remember - 'Chicago I think ...or maybe Atlanta'
...You
stand in the middle of a parking lot and click the 'unlock' button on
your car keys (and spin in a circle looking for the lights) because you
can't remember what car you rented that week.
...You only buy things in travel size.
...You're stuck somewhere between Central Time and Mountain Time.

I had lunch in Alabama last week
I was in Georgia last week and was driving to the airport and saw a sign that said Alabama was only 10 miles away. I couldn't resist checking another state off my list so I went there for lunch. The sign reads "Alabama the Beautiful" ...I have to disagree. Actually Alabama looks exactly like Georgia and there's not a whole lot in either place.
I'm currently in a travel pattern of going to California every other week. I like California, but it's a very long flight and the 3 hour time difference is really starting to mess with me. Two weeks ago I was in Monterey and spent some time in San Francisco. On Tuesday I'll be heading to the LA area. San Francisco is one of the coolest places I've ever been. I got to ride a cable car, see the Golden Gate Bridge, and visit the entrance to the Roman camp from the Percy Jackson books. I also drive down to Big Sur again and saw this cool campground:
We also had a pretty fabulous party last night. It started out as an April Fools party - we were going to tell half the guests that it was a 60's MadMen party and the other half that it was a Goth party. We ended up letting people pick whichever theme they liked best and we did have close to a 50/50 mix of guests. It was hilarious seeing such a wide range of outfits.
I had a ton of fun dressing up in goth. Turns out I already had most of what I needed for the look. The only thing I had to buy was black lipstick which was impossibly hard to find. I had to go to 7 different stores before I found it, but it was worth it - the party would not have been complete without black lipstick.
