Because we're HUGE Percy Jackson Fans..

Pegasi are a great method of transportation

...which you may or may not have already known (the next book comes out on October 2nd!), we sort of took a 'Percy Jackson Tour of America' if you will.  Most of it was coincidental, but basically we made sure to hit a bunch of sites that the demigods visit on their various quests.  Wow - actually writing this out makes sound a little nerdy... but bear with me. 

Percy's godly father is Poseidon (Neptune)

Here's a brief synopsis of the plot line just in case anyone's interested (feel free to skip this part and just look at the pictures):

Essentially the Olympians (gods from Greek and Roman mythology) are still alive even though no one still worships them and they have children who are 1/2 god and 1/2 human - demigods.

These demigods have to go on quests to save the gods and basically end up re-living a lot of the actual myths.  The books are set in the US because Mt Olympus is now located at the top of the Empire State Building (and the entrance to Hades is in LA of course).



You probably won't get a lot of the pictures if you haven't read the books, but enjoy anyway!

Percy visits the Hoover Dam on one of his trips across America and monsters try to kill him there so he gets a ride from the flying statues pictured on the right.

The sign below reads 'Tamalpais' which is the name of a mountain in San Francisco.  In the books, this is the mountain where Atlas holds up the sky and the Titans try to use it as their fortress when they're rising up in an attempt to defeat the gods.





And the Garden of the Gods sign we just thought was cool... There were lots of amazing rock formations at that park and we were giving them god and titan-themed names.
